Kampala Children's Centre Uganda Fundraiser

Christ Church Wednesday 7th July at 7pm

To help raise funds for the Kampala Children’s Centre in Uganda, Christ Church has booked a performance from Destiny Africa Children’s Choir. In 2008, the Choir toured Great Britain concluding with a performance at 10 Downing Street before Prime Minister Gordon Brown. We are hoping individuals/groups/projects within the Network may be interested in fundraising for the Children’s Centre prior to the event.

For the website visit http://www.kampalachildren.com/
There will be no charge for entry, but we want to try to raise as much money as possible

Ruth the UK Tour Co-ordinator writes:

“The actual performance is created in Uganda. The show includes live singing, traditional dances, a cultural show (informs the audience a bit about the culture of Uganda), testimonies from some of the children - shown on a video, drumming, the children share their dreams, and a short video about the vision of Kampala children's centre. Most of the songs have been written by the children themselves and many of the dances have parts made up by the children. Most of the songs are about God and display his faithfulness and great compassion, mercy and love (some of the songs are English, some are in different languages) They are totally inspirational!”

Please keep this date free in your diary for what should be an exciting evening! (Watch the Video!)

The vision behind the Kampala Children’s Centre is to house, educate and care for at least 1000 orphans from within Uganda and to give a safe and loving environment to at least 1000 children from war torn areas, slums and AIDS affected families.
