Can a man find peace in Santiago?

Can a man find peace in Santiago?
Do women still dream in San Jose?
Is there hope for all?
Why does life forestall?
What do philosophers say?

Can a boy find truth in Cincinnati?
Did men ever laugh in old Pompeii?
Will there be a feast,
For the good or least?
What do the orators say?

Refrain:

So what can you tell a man with no heart -
When things of life are blown far and apart?
Where are the answers to bring us some cheer -
Do prophets still paint with shabby veneer?
But still the Son shines, with His light and heat,
As peace, truth and love walk down your street.
Let peace, truth and love walk through your feet.

Can a child find love in Casablanca?
Does the road still lead to Mandalay?
When is the trial,
For those in denial?
Who has the ultimate say?

Is it a long way to Tipperary?
Will our road lead on to God’s Great Day?
Will there be a crown,
Or a fearful frown?
When God has the final say!

Refrain:
